Greetings

I've read that using session variables in DNN is a no-no, especially when moving to a load-balanced environment (which we may do and we don't want to handicap ourselves).  I've been playing around with the Personalization class, but it only seems relevant when the user is actually logged in to DNN.  Is this correct?  If so, are there built in DNN ways to handle session variables for visitors who are not logged in -- or do we need to use cookies, or develop a custom database solution?
