When an instance of an installed module is first created on a portal's page I create a folder and two sub-folders under that portal's root for storing uploaded files and email templates. That's easy to do . . . but I've been holding off on going that route as I can't think of any way to automatically remove those folders and their contents when the module definition is deleted.  This also appears to be the case with the core Repository module as it's per portal upload folders don't get removed when the module definition is deleted.

Hopefully the new package installer and new IModuleControl interface coming in DNN v 5 will include a way to do this - particularly to provide either a ModuleDeleting event that can be subscribed to or expose a method in the interface like IUpgradable does. I would especially like the exposing of a ModuleDeleting event so that I could run custom code when the last module instance of a portal is deleted.

In the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions for an automated removal of folders under the portal root?
