Having an issue when trying to use remote connections through connection strings.
The fact is, there is no need to pass connection strings since the module is local, but some functions are not excuting.
For example, here is a standard select or insert sqlstring.append used for selecting or inserting, which works corretly:

Dim mySqlString As New StringBuilder()
mySqlString.Append("SELECT *")
mySqlString.Append("FROM TableName")
mySqlString.Append("WHERE Value")
Me.GridView.DataSource = CType(DataProvider.Instance().ExecuteSQL(mySqlString.ToString(), myParam), IDataReader)
Me.GridView.DataBind()

But when used for deleting data, it doesn't work correctly?:

Dim mySqlString As New StringBuilder()
mySqlString.Append("DELETE *")
mySqlString.Append("FROM TableName")
mySqlString.Append("WHERE Value")
Me.GridView.DataSource = CType(DataProvider.Instance().ExecuteSQL(mySqlString.ToString(), myParam), IDataReader)
Me.GridView.DataBind()

It simply does not execute the delete format.
How should the code be formed so records are deleted, most importantly without remote connection string?

Delete will work. Can you post some actual code that is not working?

Examples can be found here:

your delete syntax is wrong. Delete statements should look like "delete from tablename where value..." (note there is no * as per your example)
