Hi Guys,

I have intalled a DNN 4.3.7 instance on my local machine. Now i want to do some change in the Built document module, that why i have downloaded the document module source from dotnetnuke site, then i replace document module code with the downloaded source code, I have tried to open the document module solution file but it always give me following error

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
The project file 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DNN43SRC\Website\DesktopModules\Documents\DotNetNuke.Documents.vbproj' cannot be opened.

The project type is not supported by this installation.

I have searched the internet about the problem, mostly people said, it is due to visual studio 2005 service pack1 not installed.
So i have downloaded the visual studio service pack1 from microsoft site and intalled it but again it was giving me the same Error.

one person on Dotnetnuke community also writen he is able to open the sultion by doing the following trick

he created a new website with the name of Dotnetnuke_2 and point it to the module sultion.

I have also try this trick but no luck. Please help me out in solving this problem.

Waiting your response.

well I believe it's complaining about not having the "Web Applications Project" type installed. It's not installed as part of VS2005 and was a separate download. It IS included in VS2005 SP1, so I'm surprised that if you did indeed install SP1 that you're still getting the error.

If you open up any web project, can you right-click on the project in the solution explorer and see a menu option to "Convert to Web Application" ?

If for some reason installing SP1 was not succesful, you can also download the WAP addon here and try installing it separately

also, the document module is in VB.NET I believe, so if you installed Visual Studio 2005 but only installed C# you will also see this error.

re-run the VS2005 installer and make sure VB.NET is checked

Thank guys for your great help, I have installed Support Web Application Projects for Visual Studio 2005 and the Visual Studio 2005 Web Application Projects add-ins.Now the document source code is opening without Errors, But when I compile it give me runtime exception. After some search on Net I come to know that the Document module 4.00 version only work 4.5.2 or above so I have installed the DNN 4.8 version and plug-in the document (4.00) module. As I have to do some change in the document module so I have downloaded the source code from the Dotnetnuke official site and replace the installed document module code with the source code, I have opened the solution file of Document module for editing, the source code is opened without any Error, Then I drag a lable control on the “Document.ascx” and try to access it in its Code behind file “Document.ascx.vb” but I can not be able to access it. Can anyone tell me why the lable control is not accessible in the code behind file.

Waiting your response.
