I am currently facing problems with the URLs in my DNN site. I replicated my production DNN locally. I am able to view the contents in the various tabs of my website. But when I click on any of the URLs in my locally replicated website, it throws "The resource cannot be found" error. I notice that the starting location from where the URL is being retrieved is wrong. I have to basically change this location to solve the problem. But am not sure as to how and where I should make this change. Can somebody help me out with this.

Thanks,

rt

Hi rt,

assuming that you updated the portal's alias when replicating the website to match your local virtual dir, what do the wrong links look like? Also, did you add some rules to the user friendly management on production?

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Thanks Dario for your response. Yep..I have updated the portal's alias to match my local virtual dir.

Say, there is a link by name ".Net Architects". It should be pointing to http://localhost/myweb/NETArchitects/tabid/64/Default.aspx.

However, it is actually pointing to http://localhost/NETArchitects/tabid/64/Default.aspx. This is the case with all the links in my locally replicated website.

Am totally new to DNN and am not sure if any rules to the user friendly management has been added in production. Could you please let me know how I check that..

Thanks,

rt

Hi rt,

sorry for the dalay, I was out. The friendly URL settings can be found in the Host Settings. To know if they are the culprit, just turn them off. Also can you check if some kind of SEO custom modules are installed? A common task of these modules is to create persistent URLs.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
