  • Do you have at least 512Megs of RAM if you are using SQL 2000 and 1 Gig of Ram if you are using SQL 2005. I have found that I get random erros with less resources
  • Can you debug it to see where it gets stuck?
  • Log in as Host and look at the error log and see what that says.

Yes, my local computer has a gig of ram.

I get two errors in the Error List when i run the delete option in the gridview:
A first chance exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' occurred in mscorlib.dll
An exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' occurred in mscorlib.dll but was not handled in user code
A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Data.dll

That means little to nothing to me....

As far as debugging goes, I dont think that will help me, as I barely understand what is going on here. DNN's approach to using OOP even for modules like what im doing, makes things far more complicated than they need to be in some cases. I understand why DNN does this, but in my case, these addons are application specific and interlocked into resources throughout my office, nothing that will be released, as it will have no value to others. I would just code this another way, but I dont even know how to easily call upon the data connection, and access the stored procedures through any method but using the Controllers DNN gives

I really dont want to 'cower' out of learning oop, thats why i keep pushing to learn the 'right way' in DNN, so that I can get a better understanding of everything, but, from my perspective, its quite overwhelming, and there is a lot here... making references to things I just dont understand.

All manuals/documentation/video's ive seen, have helped, but are not quite getting me to where I need to be...

Im really lost here....

Recommendations/thoughts/suggestions appreciated....

thanks.

For an internal module you might as well just use your own method for data access. I do not see where the DAL is providing you additinal benefit.
