Hi,

I am trying to set up a development environment for DNN modules. Downloaded the DNN source package. Renamed development.config to web.config and the installation wizard runs without a hitch. Used the "standard" mode of the installation wizard. When the wizard is finished I click on the link to open my site. With Internet Explorer it just hangs. Firefox is able to diagnose the problem as "The page isn't redirecting properly". I have googled the problem and found two known causes: disabled cookies or not using port 80. Cookies are on and it looks like the default DNN source package uses port 80. I have enabled the UsePortNumber setting in web.config. Still, the start URL "http://localhost/DotNetNuke_Maintenance/Default.aspx?tabid=36" keeps redirecting and redirecting and redirecting.......

Any ideas?

Thanks, great link!

I hope Google picks up on this link fast. The DotNetNuke forum search is unusable unless you enjoy getting timeout messages.
