hi all,

how to display FavIcon in DotnetNuke ( favourite icon),  explain the steps to acheive that one.

create a favicon (icon file 16*16px) with your favourite favicon program, named favicon.ico and upload it to your portal root folder (/portals/0 for first portal of your installation). done.

Yes that works :)

I just made one with the vs2005 Icon Editor. I remember you can also make them using some online tools (free).

hi ,

its working but when i navigate to other page it again changes to default IE icon. how to display for all the pages.?

can you tell me how to upload the ico file to /portal/0/  in DNN. i done by copying the ico file and paste it to /portal/0/, is it correct way. ?

My FavIcon is showing up in all pages in that protal. maybe you need to put one in each portal you make.

That's what i did too. copy and paste into that folder.

Favicon is actually just a meta tag in a page pointing to the icon file. For pages that you don't see your favIcon, just view the source of that page and find the path that the FavIcon.ico is pointing to and paste the FavIcon.ico into that path.

it should look somthing like this

<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="/dnn/Portals/0/favicon.ico" />
