I am working with a custom registration module, which also acts as the user profile information. The problem that I have now, is that users cannot change their own passwords. I have tried using the UserController.ChangePassword method, but I get a "username cannot be null error." I have also tried manually creating a module definition for the password portion of the admin modules. Again, I get the same error. How can I allow for users to change their own passwords when their profile display is also custom?

Unless you're developing a commercial module, you might want to save time and frustration and pick up the UCanUse User PassCodes module; it can be run in just 'change password' mode and is inexpensive; available from Snowcovered.  This won't help if you're develping a commercial product, but if it's for your own or a client's site here's a quick solution.

I am in a similar situation. But I have a product that is for a client that could become commercial. I have a very capable developer and I am just trying to do some upfront research.

Richard, I have used your UCanUse products for years now and they have worked great for me. But for this client we are building a custom workflow and have been working with them for quite some time. In the past, they just manually created an account for a user and assigned it to their company. Now they are growing and need us to automate that part of it. So they want to include the creation of a user account and assigning it to a role as a part of the registration page, along with other data that is stored in our own tables.

So I was wondering if you could maybe point us in the right direction on what SPROCS and code might be useful in creating our registration page.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
