Hi;
I developed a module for DNN 4.9 which is working well but i just didn't find a way to show custom alerts the way DNN show it's alerts and error messages.
Let's say the login window, when you try an invalid login it shows an error message with a red icon which looks like a default alert style.

You can use the core modulemessage class e.g.

UI.Skins.Skin.AddModuleMessage(Me, Services.Localization.Localization.GetString("Save.ErrorMessage", Me.LocalResourceFile), UI.Skins.Controls.ModuleMessage.ModuleMessageType.YellowWarning)

How do you clear this message?

My module is ajax enabled and would like to clear this message.

You can't clear it when using Ajax. The same thing applies when you use the partial rendering option.

One way around would be to develop your own alert control, composed of a table with two columns and two rows, 1 image control and two labels, so that you can mimick dnn's message control whenever you need to show some feedback to the user.

Cheers!

Thanks for the help, here is what I did:

Added a placeholder control inside the updatepanel (note id=):
<asp:PlaceHolder runat="server" id="MessagePlaceHolder" enablev13wstat3="false"></asp:PlaceHolder>

And then used that control for my messages:
DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.AddModuleMessage(MessagePlaceHolder, "Message", DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.ModuleMessage.ModuleMessageType.RedError);
