Hi

I am trying to change the username while the user is logged in. I log then off and log back in and say UserInfo.Username = ....

This doesn't work. Is there a way I can change UserInfo.Username dynamically.

changing th user name is not supported by the framework and there are a number of modules using user name to identify users (instead of userid) for various reasons.

If you're interested in a little more detail about the issue, I include a link to the Microsoft work item request in a similar thread, located here.  This is unfortunately an ASP.NET issue and not directly DotNetNuke-related.

There are a variety of ways to handle this at the SQL-level, given a very specific (but common) deployment.

I know its not supported but you can do it - I wrote a little thing into my site to do this

just have to change the name in aspnet_Users (2 places) and in Users (1 place) and double check no modules use the username as a key or whatever

(which i think would be a bad idea anyway - maybe I am wrong on that)
