I modified the "DesktopModules/AuthenicationServices/DNN/Login.aspx.vb" and created a copy "DesktopModules/AuthenicationServices/SimpleLogin"

I changed the layout to something very basic.

I added the user control to my skin so it shows on every page which works create and it logs you in perfectly. My problem is that there is call in the page_load event:

DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(Me.Parent, Me.cmdLogin, Asc(vbCr))

It doesn't matter if I comment it out or leave it, it will grab the "enter" key and try to post the login. Which is a problem when I have other modules on the page I want people to be able to hit the enter key to invoke the post back.

Any idea what is overriding this and how I can stop the login from hijacking the enter key?

Thank you,

Jon

Solved my own problem...

the function: DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(Me.Parent, Me.cmdLogin, Asc(vbCr))  simply binds the enter key to that button in that user control.

So my problem was not with the login but with the other user controls that did not bind the enter key to their buttons. This is an issue with 3rd party modules who don't do the same.

for some reason I thought you could only have 1 enter key bind per page but it appears that you can have many based on the user control your cursor is in.

Jon, FYI the enter and default button functions can have both asp:panel and form scope.
