Hi.

I'm looking for stored procedure that will check if particular user has view permission to particular tab.

So IN parameters are ( UserId, TabId), maybe + PortalId.
OUT : true / false (or could be list of permissions).

Is there any existng DNN stored procedure, or similar procedures that allow above ?

regards, Tomasz M.

Hi,

I THink you will have to write one yourself. The tab security is entirely role based. The View vw_TabPermissions has a userid in it (and tabid and portalid) but only looks for users added to the permissions table (aauthorize single user in stead of role in your page settings). I would start with looking at the vw_Tabpermissions (either use the sql behind the view or just select from the view) and just inner join this with the UserRole table (on roleid) and inner join that on the Users table (on userid).

Using an Exists you could translate it to returning 0 or 1.....

something like

CREATE procedure [dbo].[YourSPName]
 @PortalID int,
 @UserID int,
 @TabID int
as
if exists
(
    select VT.* from
    vw_TabPermissions  VT
    inner join  UserRoles UR on UR.RoleID = VT.RoleID
 inner join Users U on U.UserID = UR.UserID
    where  U.UserId= @UserId and
 VT.TabID = @TabID and
 VT.PortalID = @PortalID
)
BEGIN
 select 1
END
ELSE
BEGIN
 select 0
END
