I am using the dnn texteditor control on a custom page, it is inside an an ajax update panel, I have heard some people say there are issues with this but it was working fine for some time. Now all of a sudden when I save the text to a database, mytexteditor.text no longer comes out as "<p>blah blah<p>" it now comes out as "&gt;blahblahblah&gt;" etc So now when I save an item and try and read the text into a div it literally shows the html on the page instead of rendering it like normal html.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

fixed I added HtmlEncode="false" to the texteditor instances this seems to have corrected the issue, I wonder why this is not the default?
