I googled for DNN 5 manifest structure. I found a couple of Charles Nurse blog entries (but they dated back to May 2008, and I am sure much has changed since then).

So, can anyone point me to a resource describing the entire DNN 5 manifest file structure in detail? Or atleast list all the nodes available?

Also, in one of my previous forum threads, I inquired about custom module permission (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/111/threadid/226517/scope/posts/Default.aspx)

I was pointed to a Blog entry describing how to add custom permissions for modules, which I have used since then. However, I was also informed that DNN 5 would support custom permissins directly from .dnn manifest file without having to write custom code. Is that support available in DNN 5?

Right now about the only full documentation that I know of is Appendix D of my DotNetNuke Module Programming Book.

Looks like you have to buy the book to find out.  But if you don't want to buy the book check out manifest file for upcoming the List & forms module for DNN 5,

I have the book and it is very detailed about the manifest. I do have a question for Mitchell though.

On page 68 in the book you show a .dnn file for the guestbook that shows version="5.0" in the manifest. In the appendix you state that DNN 5.x will always use version 4.0 for the manifest as the version of the manifest is not the same as the version of DNN. So my question is, which page is correct? Should we use version 4.0 or 5.0 when creating manifests for DNN 5.x

Thanks,

Jerel
