Where can I find the source code of the registration module? Can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Senthrax,

Authentication is customizable in DotNetNuke, so there will be a couple places to look.  Login.ascx and Logoff.ascx, in admin/Authentication, control the loading of whatever customized authentication method(s) is/are configured for a given portal.

Authentication methods are (generally) stored under DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices, though a custom method can really store controls anywhere.  For the built-in DotNetNuke authentication, look in DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/DNN.  If you're dealing with an oddball custom method, you can always look in the Authentication table of your database for an authoritative control path.

Hope this helps!

Brandon

About two hours after I wrote the above, I realized that you asked about the registration control and not about login/logoff at all.  Ever have one of those days?

Anyway, the actual answer to your question is much more straightforward: the DotNetNuke registration control is located at admin/Users/User.ascx for the 4.x version line, and \DesktopModules\Admin\Security\User.ascx for 5.0 onward.  Note that this control handles both user registration and administrator-user modification (I'm sure there is a longstanding and interesting reason that it was implemented in this manner, but that's the way it is).

Hope this (actually) helps!

Brandon

:) Yeah I sure do. I guess I was having one of those days too when I was browsing through those files ;)

The fact that its combined with the admin side of user modification probably caused the confusion. Thanks for the help Brandon.
