Hi,

I am building a module for a client that will reside on each page.  I need the module's page load event to fire each time a page is hit that has this module on in (which will be every page).  The module retrieves and displays data that changes throughout the day - so there can be no caching...

Is the only way to do this to set the Performance Setting in Host Settings to "No Caching" - or is there something I can do in the module itself to force it to run the page load event when each page is called?

Thanks, Al

Al,

do not mix up data caching (specified in Host settings) and module output caching (specified in Module settings, if available).

To disable module output caching, specify default caching time as -1 in your module manifest.

If your data changes throughout the day, but is same for all users, caching does make sense, to avoid db queries on every page hit. cache your data using .Net caching for a reasonable time, use Host Cache Setting as a factor, as the core does.

HTH
