Hi everyone,

Well, I'm new to DNN and I got this really basic sort of task here. All I wanna do is to validate the UserName field in the Registeration module with a Regular Expression and the problem is that I don't know where to put this RegularExpressionValidator. I've found out that there is a control at Controls/user.ascx in which there are fields (textboxes etc) for the UserName, I tried modifying that but there was no effect whatsoever. I've also found a module named Dynamic Registration 2.4 that might do the job but I dont wanna buy that as such.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

If you want to constrain usernames at registration to be of a specific format, dynamic registration is BY FAR your best route to go.  it is quick, and easy to implement.  Other solutions would require either a custom build, or a core modification.
