Hi all.

I'm developing a custom module and I want to include a custom web user control into View control (ascx)of my module. I'm able

to do that but then the custom cotrol does not know what module id or portal id or anything from my DNN module settings.

Is there a way to solve this?

Have your usercontrol inherit from PortalModuleBase. When I do this, the usercontrols for my module are created from the same template as my modules 'main' ascx.

see how i use usercontrols in my dnn environments

http://www.nokiko.com/Blog/tabid/119/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/2/Alternative-DotNetNuke-development-with-UserControls.aspx

basically you just import dotnetnuke in your usercontrol and then you can acces what you need

you would need portalsettings

Imports DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals

Dim _portalSettings As PortalSettings

                _portalSettings = CType(HttpContext.Current.Items("PortalSettings"), PortalSettings)
                intPortal = _portalSettings.PortalId
