I have a DNN site running on one of my servers and everything works fine.  I'm working on it, and publishing each change to test got cumbersome real quick, so I copied it to my local machine.  I tried to add the localhost alias and port number of the asp.net development server visual studio creates and apparently you can't have port numbers in aliases (and every link in DNN wants to use localhost with no port number), so I added the localhost alias and set IIS up to map to the DNN directory.  But when I try to access it locally I get the following error.  Again, everything is working fine on the server.

*** This funny thing is, when I open the site using localhost:port I get the default.aspx fine, so the development server's not having the issue IIS is..

I had this error when restoring a server. it appears that some files were not updated as there were locked. I would suggest on an update you stop IIS and then copy the update in place to ensure all files are copied
