Hi,

I have a scanario here. I  have a seperate server on network with SQL Server 2000 sp4 installed. I created a view on that sql server and give permission for one of user.

In my DB Server (SQL server 2005 Standard Edition -sp2) , i created a linked server to my other server. I created a view which actually returning all columns from the view of linked server. In my second view i joined this local view with some other tables etc. This view is being used for stored procedures and reports etc.

I am using standard DNN architecture in one of my DNN module, in which i populate my grid with dataset from the stored procedure. Sometime this process gives me COMMAND EXECUTION TIMEOUT message and page stopped working. I run this stored procedure in command line and viewed the actual Execution Plan , i found 93% time was  spent on remote query. Can you help me how to fix this issue.

Should i create indexes on remote server (Which are not very easy due to security reasons).

Thanks in advance.
