I'm getting ready to take a stab at a module and I could use some advice.

Since there are a lot of installations running 4.x out there what is the development setup for creating modules that will run on 4.3 and higher installations? I suppose I'm asking if the lastest starter kit creates modules which are 4.3 compatable or if I need some other setup.

Thanks.

Personally to do this, you have a number of options, I personally prefer the WAP development model.  (Compiled modules).

Doing this, you just need to build the module against the "lowest supported version".  For example, I build all of my modules in a DotNetNuke 4.7.0 installation.  That way all modules work with 4.7.0 and later.

I personally recommend using at least 4.6.2 as the minimum version, that way you can use ASP.NET Ajax in your modules.
