I need to add an alt text to <img> in order to make my site xhtml validate.

Is there a way to modify the above piece of code without touching the source?

Or If there is a way to disable the progressbar with the partial rendering enabled would also work for me.

I see this also whenever using the DNN Events module. It automatically refers to progressbar.gif even though not being displayed, and it generates error due to no alt text or empty alt text. Did you find a general method for repairing this?

No, I'm still struggling about the solution. I really don't want to make change to dnn core.

You might be able to use a little jquery to find the image and add the alt tag.
