Hi

I want to hide the Add Content hyperlink on the bottom left of the View container and the action dropdownlist (as generated by the module template) until the User has selected an item from a dropdownlist on my page.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Geoffrey

I have not tried it in response to a selection, but I do something similar when I check a flag in OnInit and only add the module action if it is true - can you do something similar on the control event?

Many thanks for this suggestion.

I have just found another way to do it. I add a new user control with just the dropdownlist which I set with a blank Key so it appears when users first see the module then when the dropdownlist selected item is changed I take them to another control with the item selected and the IActionable AddContent visible.

This works because the format is identical and the user does not know you have shidted to a different .ascx

Thank you again for your time

I asked this question back in June, then found another solution using a series of pages with a dropdownlist on each.  But I have now found this excellent series of articles on

Master/Detail Filtering With A DropDownList

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaspnettut/html/aspnet_tutorial07_masterdetailfiltering_vb.asp

and

Master/Detail Filtering With Two DropDownLists

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaspnettut/html/aspnet_tutorial08_masterdetailfilteringwithtwo_vb.asp

and I now have the page design I originally wanted - except for that Add Content button lurking on the bottom left of the page.

I have got the Action off the top left menu with

Action.Visible(0) = False

but it still shows up down the bottom.  I don't quite understnd the OnIt suggestion.  Any further information or clarification would be most welcome.

Kind regards

Geoffrey
