We are creating custom modules and everytime you make a change it takes DNN 60-90 seconds to reload.

Is there a way to eliminate this slow startup?

Here's what I do...

1. Make my change in VS2005 and recompile

2. Run bat file to copy new dll's and pages to DNN folders

3. Kill the aspnet worker process.

4. open the application and wait...

Any help would be really appreciated?

I estimate that I wasting 30-40 minutes a day waiting for application to startup.

Multiply this by 50-100 developers and we are wasting a lot of time.

I am using Vladan's WAP solution, so I only build the project I am working on, and don't do step 2 and 3, BUT it still takes about a minute to reload the website when the assemblies are loaded from the \bin.
I just rebuild a lot less often, but it is extremely painful.

Maybe you could try Nik's idea at www.devtao.com

I still didn't have time to try it, but it sounds interesting...
