Hi All,

We currently have upgraded our site from dnn 4.0.2 to dnn 4.3.4  After this upgrade we have encountered strange behaviour on  one of our custom modules.  In this module we I have some dropdownlists with postbacks.

When we run this module as a host all seem to work just fine but when we run it as a regular user it will just keep on popping up the initial value in the dropdownlist.

Does anyone know what might be causing this behaviour?

Marc

Check your page load postback logic to ensure that you are not missing a databind or coding around the databind with permissions. Also, it is a common mistake to confuse Page.IsPostBack with Not Page.IsPostBack.

I'm encountering the same problem with a dropdownlist and a textbox in a custom module we built for 4.3.4, but it is intermittent.

I'm using the values from a dropdownlist and a textbox to set the select parameters for an ObjectDataSource when a "Search" button is clicked.

The control may sometimes work correctly 5 or 6 times in a row, but the 7th time it seems to lose the selected item value, and the text entered in the textbox. It will then refuse to work correctly until i close the browser, stop debugging and launch the site again. The strange thing is that the Page_Load event is not being fired when this happens and will not stop on a breakpoint I set at this point.

I have tried setting the submit button's UseSubmitBehaviour to both True and False, but the problem occurs with both those settings. Viewstate is enabled on both the controls. I've tried for two days to track this down.

Further to my earlier post, i too have noticed that this problem does not occur at all when i am logged in as host, it only happens as an unauthenticated user.
