I have no idea why it would occur, it didn't make any sense to me either. However for unauthenticated users this seemed to be the cause. I did not pursue the investigation any further after resolving my issue.

Thanks for mentioning it. This is happens for authenticated users as well.

Perhaps caching should only be used for "Static" user controls but it seems pretty useless to me.

I have made a note to remind me of this the next time it occurs.

Last thing I can think of to check Are these components registered in teh machine config?

How are you verifying that events are not getting fired, for example, a dropdown?

If not then I recommend isolating the problem, if you want help with this, say so and I will give you my advice in the matter. Until then I will save my typing until you verify this.

Hi,

The components are registered in the web.config file, not the machine config.

The events do not seem to fire.I have tested this in a dropdownlist control. There is code in the selectedindexchanged event that does not get executed.

I have double checked and it does seem that caching is the culprit although I don't know why. This is the only module that I turned caching on for.

questions:

1)how are these registered in the web config?  Could you post?

If you were to create a generic module, unique assembly name. I would bet that the dropdown would work.

Therefore I think it has something to do with these third party modules. Basically the idea is to isolate the problem.

Therefore I would suggest slowly removing elements of your module from the project, then testing.

Like to hear how it goes.
