I am trying to develop a module for dnn 4x.  I got the dal, and the bll done, and I loaded the module into my local copy of dnn.  The view control shows up fine, but when I click on the link that is supposed to take me to the edit control it doesn't do anything.  What is the cause of this

Thanks Mike

Two things...

  1. Make sure your module definition identifies your edit control and points to your edit.ascx
  2. Make sure your view control codebehind is Implementing IActionable and includes a stub like:
Public ReadOnly Property ModuleActions() As Entities.Modules.Actions.ModuleActionCollection Implements Entities.Modules.IActionable.ModuleActions
   Get
     Dim Actions As New Entities.Modules.Actions.ModuleActionCollection
     Actions.Add(GetNextActionID, Localization.GetString(Entities.Modules.Actions.ModuleActionType.AddContent, LocalResourceFile), Entities.Modules.Actions.ModuleActionType.AddContent, "", "", EditUrl(), False, Security.SecurityAccessLevel.Edit, True, False)
     Return Actions
   End Get
End Property
