Hi All,

Can a module has its own config file (i.e. web.config)?
I have tried to implement Enterprise Library for my module but it's always look for the configuration in main DotNetNuke's web.config file.

Thanks

I would recommend that you read:

Access The Database (DAL and DAL+)

DotNetNuke has a data access layer that provides the functionality of the Enterprise Blocks.

I know that somewhere in the configuration portion of the .NET Framework you can specify the name of the .config file to load a value from, instead of looking in the default web.config or app.config.

Hi Thanks Michael,

The problem is I do not want to create SqlProvider as the module will only connect to Sql Server and I want to keep it simple.

Hi Matt, thanks...

I still need the default web.config as DotNetNuke (DNN) always look for it. Problem is my module once uploaded to DNN also will always lookup for the default web.config which is in the root directory of DNN installation.

Anyway it's a good idea to make my module look for other .config file by programmability, I will try that.
