I have been trying to set up a C# module in 4.3.5

So far, I add a C# module and rename the containers as required.

Then I try to register it with DNN but the script in "01.00.00.SqlDataProvider" has the comment:

/************************************************************/
**** SqlDataProvider *****/
/***** *****/
/***** *****/
/***** Note: To manually execute this script you must *****/
/***** perform a search and replace operation *****/
/***** for {databaseOwner} and {objectQualifier} *****/
/***** *****/
/************************************************************/

This sounds as if I should be doing something ???? But what ?? Where are databaseOwner and objectQualifier defined?

Running the script as is creates the tables but does not make the module available in DNN.

I would appreciate it if someone could help - or point me to any documentation (so far I have bought 2 books, many pdf files, video tutorials) all to no avail.

Click LOGIN
Log in as "host" The password (if you haven't already changed it) is "dnnhost"
Click on the HOST menu and select SQL
The form will display.
Switch back to the DotNetNuke website and paste (Ctrl +V) the script into the window, click the "Run as Script" box and click EXECUTE.

Again, watch the progress bar in your web browser because when the script has been run the text in the window will shift and then... nothing...

been there - done that !

I quess that I need to be more specific - I have done what you very nicely point out using the SQL script from 01.00.00.SqlDataProvider and although the tables are created correctly the module is not available.

Nick Symmonds in his book runs through a set up for C# but it does not sync with 4.3.5 !

I assume from the comments that I need to define the varibles mentioned in the comments of 01.00.00.SqlDataProvider??

Thanks anyhow.

The first three pages of this tutorial describe how to get the Module from the starter kit working:

Create a full complete Module

The databaseowner and objectqualifier are defined in the web.config of the DotNetNuke site. However you can leave their default settings and everything should still work.
