Hello,

I am new to programming to DNN, and I program in C#.

I have installed the StarterKit.

Now when I create a new DNN module, I can not see the DesktopModuls\ModuleName\ModuleName.SqlDataProvider
(The file i need to parse to SQL so I can see my module in DNN)

What do I do wrong.

It is a brand new computer just installed with.
Windows XP/SP2
SQL Express
Visualstudio 2005

Please help............

If you are using the DAL+ method, make sure you read and follow the instructions Michael's outlined in his pinned post.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/111/threadid/74227/scope/posts/Default.aspx

If you want to use the WAP method, you can follow these instructions to setup your environment.  Note: this is for VB.

Thanks for the quick response.

But why am I not able just to use the Starterkit template.. ?

It has worked before in 4.0.3 i think is was.

Create a new Module take the modulename.SqlDataProvider (SQL statements) put it in DNN and ... then I can see my module.

Am I missing somthing or has the starterKit been changed?

Kind regards Gert

Did this ever get resolved? The Module_cs.zip file installed in the Templates\ItemTemplates\Visual Web Developer\CSharp folder does indeed have different contents in version 4.3.5. There is no Module.SqlDataProvider file, and ViewModule.ascx.cs has a bug on line 136. The bug is easily fixed, but will not even pass a compiler.

At that point I stopped looking for other issues and I use the templates from 4.0.2 that I know to work.
