I'm trying to write a module with my own registation info, but read from the existing User Registration tables, and write the data back to those same tables.  I need a separate one because I have two levels of registration, each with different required information.  One for users to enter username/password/email to get newsletters (use the DNN registration), and one with lots of required information to purchase products ( my own module that uses the same underlying DB tables).  Is this a good way to do this?

If so, where can I find the code that reads user profile information from the database and write it back?

Thank you.

Mark

To extract / set custom profile information, you can use:

UserInfo.Profile.GetPropertyValue(Name)

and

UserInfo.Profile.SetPropertyValue(Name, Value)

Thanks a lot Professor

The GetPropertyValue() works great.  I don't have a

UserInfo.Profile.SetPropertyValue(Name, Value)  I do have a

UserInfo.Profile.SetProfileProperty("FirstName", Me.TextBox1.Text)

and it sets the UserInfo.Profile to the right values, but they don't get written to the database, so the next time I login, they are gone.  Is there a stored proc or something that I need to call after I modify the UserInfo.Profile?

I needed to add

UserController.UpdateUser(PortalId, UserInfo)

after I set the Profile Properties.
