I have a 3.x portal that is working fine.  I have started a new 4.3.5 portal and I am having a terrible time getting a module to show up or even get called in from the portal.  I created a module that, with a control that just has some labels on it.  I have added the module definition like I did in 3.x  I have created a new page, and in the advance options set the it use a url and pull in

/tabid/53/ct/EditNursingHome/default.aspx

I have verified that 53 is the id of the page and EditNursingHome is the name of the web control in the module.

What am I doing wrong, or forgetting to do?

More info:  I have added the module to my project.  I have added a new control to the module.  I want this new ascx control to show up when I load a page.  I have tried just adding the module to the page, but it does not show anything.  I have tried referencing the control by pointing the url in the advanced setting to /editnursinghome/tabid/53/default.aspx or the url in the original post.  When i open the page, the page loads fine, no errors but no control.

I get nothing in the log and when I debug I never get to a stop point in my control???

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.  That helped  Now I get this error

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unable to cast object of type 'ASP.desktopmodules_rinnmeds_frmeditnursinghm_ascx' to type 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase'. ---> System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'ASP.desktopmodules_rinnmeds_frmeditnursinghm_ascx' to type 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase'. at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I am not sure what the meaning of this is.  What is the PortalModuleBase??

Thanks again,

I got the first control from the module to show up by making it the first control in the module, the one with no control or title entry.  I added a second ascx object to my module.  Now I want that one to show up on a second page.

If I add the module from the dropdown again, I get the same thing as the first page.  How can I make the second control showup.

Thanks
