I am currently redesigning my Intranet to a dotnetnuke based intranet. One of the concerns of my programming team is at this point it seems like there is a requirement to store our code under the dotnetnuke directory structure such as app_code, desktop_modules,etc...

I am not sure if this is a requirement but it makes me feel like I am dedicating the whole future of our applications to be based on dotnetnuke, where I'd rather them just be more of a pure .NET 2.0 platform.

We really want to use dotnetnuke as more of a content management system and be purely .NET 2.0 programmers.

Also the need to inherit from the enities.modules class to create a module makes me also think that it isn't possible to develop applications for dnn without having  them purely based on dnn.

I'm sure many of you have had these concerns and maybe have overcome them. Any input would be greatly appreciatied.
