This has got to be possible - I would think.  I think I am just missing something simple here.

I have created a module that loads RSS feeds into datalists that get dynamically created.  I can get these to load fine, but I am having a problem shoving them into Web Parts.  Whenever I do, it seems that the datalist disappears.  Can anyone give me some insight here?  Thank you for any feedback.

Note:  If I do the same thing with a control that isn't databound (like a calendar), it works fine.  It shoves it right into the Web Part.  If the control is databound, the problem seems to occur.

Here is a generic example of what I am doing:

RssDataSource1.Url = "

It works fine up until this point.  The code below seems to make the datalist disappear completely off the screen.  A web part does get loaded with the title, but no content is included inside it.

Dim dlList As GenericWebPart = WebPartManager1.CreateWebPart(Me.FindControl("dlWebPart"))
dlList.Title = "Test Title"
WebPartManager1.AddWebPart(dlList, WebPartZone2, 1)

http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss"

Dim dl As DataList = New DataList()
dl.ID =
"dlWebPart"
Me.Controls.Add(dl)
dl.ItemTemplate = LoadTemplate(
"datalist.ascx")
dl.DataSource = RssDataSource1
dl.DataBind()
