Hello,

I am developing a DNN based web site with few modules and I use Export Template to export the portal pages and definitions. I also precomiled my site into a new directory. I copy this directory to a new machine for staging and testing.

However, the module definitions are not exported, so after I install the new portal, I have to manually add each module, and then place them on the appropriate pages.

How can I export my site *entirely*, including the module pages so I don't have to do manual steps?

Many thanks!

Ofer

I followed tutorials from Michael Washington on http://dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNuke/tabid/195/default.aspx

He has one about creating compiled assemblies; worked great for me.

Fooberichu,

Thanks for replying but you missed my point.

I know how to export and package a single module, but that was not my question.

I have a development web site with ~20 modules, and a bit more pages (some pages will contain the same module).

When I export the portal template and install it on the production server, I get all the pages defined correctly.

However, the module definitions are missing. So I have to manually add each and every module on the empty pages. Since I did a precompile build of the site, I have the modules inside, but I have to manually add them to the admin menu, and then open each page and add the appropriate module.

So my question again is how can I export the module definitions as well to be automatically included to avoid the manul steps?

Thanks

Ofer
