Sorry I had not seen this thread previously.

http://demo.dotnetnuke.com is a straight, out of the box installation of DotNetNuke 4.4.1. The demo signup works.

If it works, could you please provide me with exact instructions on how to set it up?

So far Mr. Anonymous seems to have been right: Demo Portal Signup doesnt work out of the box the way it should. Like A. suggested a "Signup module" takes care of some of the obstacles. A working example can downloaded for free at the Fws Shop.

The purpose of this module is to repair and avoid some of the flaws in the default Demo portal feature as part of the DNN framework v. 4.5.0

Download here

Install:
- upload module through Host/ ModuleDefinitions
- place module on page for further usages
- if needed adjust texts through language editor: modules/signup/app_resources

This module is offered for free as is. No support is provided.
