Ah so it was that word causing the problem. These forum tools need some sort of blanket solution that completely separates the content from the code at all times.. encapsulates it even. It seems silly that posted content gets interpreted anywhere at all.

The comment about s y s a l e r t was that I see myself using it along with the news module as a host-to-portal communications system... as soon as I can figure out how to get it working. (I've posted a bunch of comments about it back to the original idea thread in your feature requests system.. I may have started the request, but now that it's out, it leaves me somewhat confused.)

Regarding s y s a l e r t, a new forum has been setup on OnyakTech.com for this.  Since it's now a completed feature request, we can move the conversation to the forums.  But in short... if you are browsing your site locally you will not see the

This module looks promising.  What we are looking for is an Email Campaign Manager.  it would work like this...

Setup say a dozen email templates and make it a campaign, email1, email2, email3, etc to go out at specified intervals. day 0, day 5, day 10.  Then have a simple contacts module that you could load basic contact info and add to a campaign.  This module of course should have standard securoity roles so anyone with the correct role could add their contact to the campaign.

Any thoughts on a system such as this?

Yep done.. I've moved it over there... be ready for a bucketload of questions about it.. it left me quite stumped.. but I am real keen to see it end up a good module.

I had the same problem with "s y s a l e r t" in another post.  What did I miss about your input with "s y s a l e r t"?

I'm not sure if you knew about this feature or not with "s y s a l e r t", but it can also be used to display a splash screen or a new page before a user hits a specific tab.  It's not like the current splash screen with DNN since it's not really rendered in DNN.  It's like OnyakTech.Ads but exploding to an entire page instead of just a popup.  In other words, you can use it for more then just giving users a "heads-up" on the site going down.

Actually, the issue is some code scanning for xss. One of the regex signatures looks for a l e r t (not s y s a l e r t), but it was incorrect. It's been amended for 4.5.
