Sanibel Logic has just released WebKeepAlive 4.1 … to prevent your DNN web site from being unloaded by ASP.NET...

WebKeepAlive is a windows service which periodically impersonates a web client to navigate to user defined URLs in order to ensure that web server based URL resources remain loaded, cached and active.  Quite often web site resources (DLLs, web pages, graphic images, etc) for infrequently accessed web sites will need to be reloaded due to periods of inactivity and possibly due to other resource demands within the hosting web server.  WebKeepAlive can be especially useful in a shared web site hosting environment or a web site developed using DotNetNuke.  In shared web site hosting environment, a web site owner may have little influence on overall web server resource demands, resulting in very slow response times during periods of low activity.

New WebKeepAlive 4.1 features include...

  • URLs are now monitored in an asynchronous manner, with up to 256 active threads of execution.
  • While WebKeepAlive has always been a product capable of 24x7 operations, WebKeepAlive is now a product with a DataCenter Server footprint, capable of easily supporting large numbers of URLs.
  • Number of URLs being monitored continues to be unlimited, however asynchronous support provides better overall performance.
  • Improved diagnostic information is provided in system event log, email >
