I am proud to announce that I just released version 1.3.1 of my DNN Course Gradebook Module.  This module is designed as a method for an instructor to share course grading information with students that are registered on a DNN installation.  I will be using this module on my personal site as part of my Instructor Website to share grade information with my students this summer.

This inital release provides support for

  • Multiple Assignments
  • Role based user selection (Single role only, per course)
  • Multiple courses
  • Data retention until module uninstallation (To prevent accidental data loss)
  • Student view restrictions to determine when students may view their grades
  • Student letter grade display (A, B, C, D, F with customizable cutoffs)
  • Support for content localization

I have many future expansions planned for this module however I am looking for individuals interested in testing/using this module and providing feedback for future features.

You can download this module from my website here If you have any questions/concerns/comments regarding this module PLEASE make them on my discussion forum for this module on my website!

Thank you and happy usage!

We use internal training extensively but do not grade by letter.   Everything is based on % of completion and a certificate of completion.   Will your module support this?

Right now no, it will not directly.

Now, you could use it to track the overall grade and percentage, but you couldn't put a "Pass/Fail" option.

For example you could tell the student that they got 80/100 for a total of 80%, but you cannot indicate pass/fail directly on the interface.  Depending on your exact needs you could modify the verbiage on the student grade display to tell them what the passing percentage is.

You might download the module and see how close it is to what you need.  The user text is created via localization and can be changed via tokens.

Great program!

Unfortunately, we cannot use it...

To avoid a lot of posting in this area of the forums, I started another thread on this:

Hi Mitchell

Thank you very much for releasing this to the community.

This and the associated treads read with great interest.

DNN is very well suited to VLE use and any movement in this direction may well be a very useful for many of us.

Thank You

Ian
