I have completed this stage of development on my ASP.Net 2.0/MS AJAX 1.1 Image Editor custom server control, DNN-aware Image Editor Control, and a test module for DNN versions 4.06.00 and above which may also be used as a full featured module for image upload and editing.  The Image Editor Control implements all of the DNN file and folder handling including secure and database folders. For more information and live demos, please visit

http://www.wesnetdesigns.com/Projects/ImageEditor/tabid/114/Default.aspx

On my downloads page you will find three packages:

  • WESNet_ImageEditor_04.00.00.zip -- DNN module install includes dll files for all custom server controls
  • WESNet_ImageEditor_04.00.00.zip -- DNN module install as above plus full source code for the custom server controls
  • WESNet_ImageEditorControl_Source.zip -- Full source code for the custom server controls with VS2008 solution and project files

All downloads are available free of charge to registered site users.  I will also be creating a Forge/CodePlex project to stimulate further development of the controls.

Where have you been hiding all these years with this!!

This is fantastic... the ultimate detination for this would be directly in the image management workflow - on the FCK providor's image browser. I don't know how to do that, but it looks like you got everything needed right there. I guess if it isn't a module and instead was inserted directly into the FCK gallery template, it would beed to be configured by some other means.. like a special config file.

In any case.. hot stuff. I'll be watching this like a kitty watches fluff!

This has now been set up as a Forge/CodePlex project but as I just published it tonight, it won't show up in the Forge listing until tomorrow. The CodePlex project url is www.codeplex.com/imageeditor

William,

Really nice work.

I have installed it on my portal and have played with it a bit. However I cannot get the 'edit pencil' to appear beside an image I instered in a HTML/Text module on a page (a page that I have also installed the full "Image Editro" module on). I stress though that I do not use Solpart menu on my site (i am using the Housemeu skin object which provides javascript free navigation menus).

I have two questions:

  • What do I need to do to see the 'edit pencil' or is it simply not possible without Solpart? I confirm that i am running DNN v4.6.2.
  • How do I (or can I) set it up so that images on any page can be edited 'in place'? Must the full module be installed on the page in question for that to be possible?

Any advice would be much appreicated.

Thanks again for sharing this valuable tool with the DNN community.
