Magic Content, a multi language Text / HTML replacement module has now been moved from Portalfabrik.Net to the Codeplex plattform. The initial release comes with a working PA that has been tested in several DNN 4 installations.

There is one main goal for this project for the near future:

- incorporate MHTML from Peter Donker (allow word document upload into the module)

I invite everyone to join the project!

Hello Phillip.   I hope this is the correct place to post feed back if no I appologize.

There are a few strange behaviors I have noticed while testing this module.  I will do my best to describe the steps I went through to get the results I did.

Using a test instance of DNN 4.8 hosted on root domain level.
Installed module using standard process.
Added module then proceeded to click the 'text' link for editing content.
I added some text to "edit module title"
I added some text within the rich text editor
Selected the tab "Advanced Options" and selected Administrators as the content role.
Upon selecting "Save and edit content for"  it adds All Visitors to the content role but view changes to Edit content for Administrators.
Saving this provides content for all visitors.
I repeated this by selecting each Registered Users, and Suscribers and it adds the role above the selected role if that makes sense

It gets even worse when I then select to change the role after I have saved my changes and tested the roles.
If I edit the content, delete the old role, add a new role and save the content it displays correctly but when you go back to edit the content again there is no text/html content displayed in the edit view.

Maybe someone can duplicate this?  Maybe I misread the features on the documentation?
Thanks..

Like You i had similar problems, but think its all worked out, in your your first example i am guessing you were editing the html while in all visitors, so then by going to and selectiing administraters would have created a new html for them but your original test was in the all visitors and is why when updating it saved there.

It is better to select the role from the second tab by selecting the link, for the second part it will show in order so it can appear blank or in correct, by placing all viewrs at the bottom ( below all other private roles ) this will default display )

Over all once you learn to swing the cat it is a great module and apprciate the work as it solved a problem of displaying info dedicated to each user by creating a group for them.

Hi all,

I installed Magic Content module, it works fine except some problems i have in firefox and inserting images:

When i try to edit content in firefox, module's editor disapear or it seems to have height=0px

Other problem is with inserted images. You can insert an image, but when you update content, you will not see images it seems to have problem with image url.

While I can see some room for improvements in that particular area of the UI I'd suggest to log such issues over at the codeplex forum / issue tracker. After all it hosted there for that particular reason.
