I used to use the upgrade package but decided to start using the install package instead (for this reason amongst others).  It has worked fine for me.

ATM there are exactly 2 differences between upgrade and install packages:

  • install contains additionally all current versions of oficially released project modules
  • install contains additionally web.config file (usually as a copy of release.config).

I wonder what is "amongst others". What are the "others"? Does that additional web.config file make any difference?

It will do if it overwrites your existing web.config

Help, I just upgraded to 4.8.2 and it get me error for the page. When I tried to log in, it says "critical error has occurred: Could not load the assembly 'DotNetNuke.Authentication.LiveID'. Make sure that it is compiled before accessing the page." What should I do? Thanks!
