For all of you using the fabulous Bizmodules Ultra Video Gallery please check out this new version of the YouTube bulk import tool! 
The tool now supports the new version of UVG 2.3 and can now bulk import embedcodes or  the usual flv's.

Thanks to the everyone who helped test! (Special thanks to Duane, Bent and Ulrik)

Features:

  • 1. Detects if UVG 2x is installed in the portal and shows some extra buttons for Importing.
  • 2. If UVG 2x isn’t installed, the search and view only functionality will continue to work.
  • 3. Reads the current UVG categories and generates a CheckBoxList.
  • 4. Allows for 5 to 100 items in the YouTube Search.
  • 5. You can Select and Deselect all Videos or select them individually.
  • 6. Imports the Description, Video and Tags with the selected categories.
  • 7. Use on UNLIMITED Portals that you own!
  • 8. All minor version updates will be free. (As UVG is updated we will update the i9d YouTube Viewer and UVG Import tool.)
  • 9. Download Files to your server or create links to download to your local system. (1 or 2 Videos at a time is recommended)
  • 10. Import EmbedCodes from YouTube if you have UVG 2.3.0 installed.
  • 11. Now Works with Unique Database Owner and Object Qualifiers
  • 12. Newly compiled in the DNN 4.5.3 enviroment to open up to a broader audience

Is there any chance you would support the addition of Vimeo.com searches, and imports?   If you are not familiar, Vimeo is gaining popularity for it's free hosting of HD video content and with many people adopting HD, and Vimeo's generous amount for uploads and bandwith they are moving to Vimeo rather than re-encoding.

Good Morning,

I tested Vimeo in UVG 2.3 and the standard capture of the flv's doesn't work. However the EmbedCode new to UVG 2.3 does work. I am looking at the API to see what it would take to import EmbedCodes from Vimeo with the Description and Tags. I downloaded the API and the .NET Wrapper and will play with it over the next few weeks.

Keep your eye on Vimeo and Divx.   Both are offering great opportunities for HD hosting.
