A FREE multi-portal implementation based on the IBuySpy Portal Solution Kit has been released. The code allows you to run multiple portals from a single codebase/database ( portals are identified by their unique domain names ). Effectively this allows you to run multiple independent websites from a single ASP.NET/SQL Server hosted account.

The code base incorporates a wide variety of custom software enhancements implemented over the past year. Although too numerous to mention, these include many back-end "plumbing" enhancements to improve the overall design and object-oriented nature of the IBS reference implementation.

In order to gain access to the source code ( VB.NET only at this point ), you simply need to Register on the following site:

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I posted the above announcement on the ASP.NET Forums site on Dec 24, 2002. It's still hard to believe how such a simple action could have such a profound impact on my life and on the Microsoft developer community. Six years later the code base is still being enhanced, and the project continues to gain momentum. 2008 has been a productive year, and the recent announcements around venture capital funding position us well for some massive growth in 2009.

I am proud to announce the release of both 4.9.1 and 5.0.0 today. 4.9.1 is yet another stabilization release in the 4.x product line; a robust software platform which has achieved exceptional maturity and quality over the past year. 5.0.0 represents the future of the DotNetNuke platform; a product which has been under development for over a year, providing a rich foundation for future enhancements.

As always, we greatly appreciate your support and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
