Hi

We would like to announce our new service toDNN.

Because of the lack of good quality xhtml valid skins in dnn we began to look at other options besides from just developing ourselfes. This led us to various Wordpress and Joomla template sites. We have been converting these over to DNN skins for a while now for our private clients and decided to offer this service to the dnn community at large. Starting with ou favourite supplier

http://www.rockettheme.com

RocketTheme.ToDNN

RocketTheme's Joomla Template Club is the longest running and best known template club in the joomlasphere.

Within a week after the new Joomla template is released we will have this one converted to a skin and container package and send over the necessary files to our conversion service subscribers.

Because we have to make sure that the people we send the files to also have a RocketTheme subscription we will only send the necessary .ascx and .dnn files. These can then easily be made into a real skin by zipping them up with the necessary resources from the RocketTheme downloads.

We will provide you with instruction on how to combine these files into a DNN4 or DNN5 skins - All you need is copy files and then zipping them up and upload to your portal

what does it cost

A yearly RocketTheme subscription will cost you $90 ( normal license - limited portals) or $300 ( developer license - unlimited portals )

Our conversion service will cost you an adittional €75 or €250. ( you pay RocketTheme for the template subscription, you pay us for the conversion service )

Our developer license will also include any special jQuery skin extensions or JavaScript we develop in the future to further mimic the RocketTheme special effects and features they add to there skins ( unfortunately Joomla uses MooTools and that does not always work nicely in dnn )

How do I subscribe

First you subscribe at RocketTheme usung the banner on http://www.todnn.com. After you have subscribed there you buy a matching conversion service from us and we will send over the january deliverable. After that you will be send a new deliverable each month.

Our own clients are very happy with this so we are sure you will be too.

Armand,

Congratulations on the new service.  Those RocketTheme templates are nice.

It looks like you are using the Snapsis NavMenu in the conversion process.

As we discussed, subscribers to your service will also need a developer's license to the Snapsis CSS NavMenu.

Please do not package the menu with your skins as that is a violation of the developer's license which only allows for it to be packaged with individual skins that sell for US $49 or higher.

Hi John

Its true im packagaging my first skin with the snapsis menu , all the other deliverables wont contain this ( since they allready have it installed in that portal as part of there first skin ) It was a bit unclear on the site so I explained it more

In the future I will probably build my own skin objects to further enhance the skins but so far this will suffice

Does this service include icon replacement for the skin styles?  DNN standard icons never match the desired skin templates.

Thanks...

It does not by default however sometimes RocketTheme packs extra images

I only convert what is released, and by default no icons are used in the Joomla menu's so no icons are avaiable in the RocketTheme releases
