This afternoon we released the Professional and Community Editions of DotnetNuke 4.9.5 and 5.1.2.  You can read more about what is in these releases on the DotNetNuke Blog. As usual the releases are now available on the DotNetNuke Downloads page.

NOTE:  The StarterKit and WPI Deployment packages are still being worked on and will be available for download on 9/3/2009.

NOTE:  The original 5.1.2 packages loaded on CodePlex were missing the WebControls 2.2 upgrade in the Install/Providers folder.  Please check your version to make sure you downloaded the corrected 5.1.2 version.  If you are missing the WebControls package in the installs folder, you can either install the latest WebControls which is available on CodePlex or you can just download the current DNN 5.1.2 packages.

Have learned and keep a local copy of my DNN code base backed up.   Database had just ran it's daily backup.

So just dropped the files over in the directory, run the upgrade, and one minor tweak to the default.aspx page and we were up.   10 minutes or so of verifying modules were unaffected by the upgrade...

Thats how the upgrade should go! :-)
