the moderator guidelines were to ensure that this forum was a high-quality list of DNN specific announcements, with the intent that it would be a good forum to track via RSS. I know this applies for any new posts that were not announcement specific (I delete a number of general questions from the queue on a daily basis e.g. "how do i install dnn"), I took this to mean replies to announcements as well. I'll clarify this in the corechat later tonight, and let you know.
