New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

metaPost was released as a forge project today.

http://metapost.codeplex.com/

The full source for the professional edition is included with the project.

We made the decision months back to remove the project from the marketplace and release it to the community as a CodePlex Forge project so more developers could have access to the code and help with the development of new features.

If you're interested in contributing to the project, please feel free to contact me directly at don along with oldtownit.com.  The only module that has been tested on DNN 6.2 is the Text/HTML module.  If you encounter issues with the providers for other modules, please register the issues on CodePlex.

For those who haven't used metaPost before, it's a module which provides an interface for allowing the editing of DotNetNuke content using MetaWeblog enabled editors such as Windows Live Writer.

Thanks!

Don

I downloaded and read the instructions but still not sure ...
Are you saying we can use WLW and metaPost to add new pages with html modules? Or only edit existing html module on a page?
I'm not that interested in blog capabilities but am in html. Can you explain more?

AFAIK this module is able to add/update content of existing modules only.

Sebastian is correct.  The Text/HTML provider currently only supports editing existing Text/HTML entries.  Now that the project is open source, please ping me if you're interested in helping with feature requests such as adding the ability to add new Text/HTML entries.

One problem we'll have to solve related to adding new Text/HTML modules is how to determine where the module should be added.  Here's a post where I described the problem.

Thanks,

Don
