Christoc.com has recently released a new open source module called SignalR Chat Module for DotNetNuke. The module provides a very simple and quick chat interface for any DotNetNuke 7.0.2+ website, running on the recently release SignalR Library for ASP.NET (www.signalr.net)

The module is currently in a BETA status, but is pretty stable from the testing I have done. You can find it at http://signalrchat.codeplex.com and you can see it in action at http://www.dnnCHAT.com/

Features:

  1. Very lightweight, based on SignalR
  2. Ability to post chat messages
  3. Messages are stripped of HTML before posting
  4. Messages are sent to any "clients" connected to the chat
  5. Connection and Disconnection notifications in the Chat window when a new user connects.
  6. Allows for anonymous users
  7. Logged in users are identified by their Username
  8. Written in C#
  9. Open Source and Free!

Let me know what you think of the module, you can download it from codeplex.

Submit feature requests to http://signalrchat.codeplex.com/worki...
